Hiking Without Supervision

Tales from the trail (aka Senior Moments)

The Pennines, May 17

There are not enough swear words to express the Pennines… if I used all the ones that I know, the blog police would ban me. Fn-B hills is not enough, more like GTF-Fn-B-Fn-dickwads… something like that.

Every night I was totally exhausted and went to bed early. That’s hard to do in the Uk at this time of year as it doesn’t get really dark until about 9 or 10 o’clock, then the sun is up at 5:00. So, it means you are about to be bombarded with blog posts as I finally catch up.

I waited most of the day for these two handsome fellas to arrive. After getting their backpacks sorted out, which took a hot minute (Eric brought his whole office), we took the train to Edale, and promptly went for a beer and some grub at the The Old Nags Head, which is the official start of The Pennine Way. We stayed at the Ollerbrook Barn BnB and would have gladly stayed there for a few days, the room and the view was great.

About Me

Hiya! I’m Cathie and I love to walk and hike. I’m totally addicted to long miles, preferably in the sun. Whether it’s a few miles or hundreds of miles, I like to gear up, get out, and just go.
